“Dixie” is owned by her breeder Alan Osburg. It didn’t take long for Dixie’s ability to become apparent. Despite drawing the outside barrier of 12 on debut around the tight Canterbury circuit, Dixie Blossoms stormed home from near the tail to score an emphatic and portentous win.

Dixie Blossoms first stakes win came in similar circumstances – this time, a barnstorming last to first win in the Group 3 ATC Angst Stakes (1600m) at Randwick. Dixie Blossoms current tally of four stakes wins include back to back renewals of the Group 2 Guy Walter Stakes, the first of which was won with a margin of 6 1/2-lens. Dixie Blossom has twice been placed at Group 1 level and was fourth in another, the Myer Classic, at Flemington on Derby day.
