Firstly congratulations again to the connections of Monton after he won the Group 2 Villiers at Warick Farm yesterday. At his previous start when he won the festival Stakes with Sam Clipperton in the saddle was a fantastic win but yesterday stepping up to Group 2 level and having to contend with barrier 18 was just a fabulous win. It was never going to be an easy task, Hugh Bowman had no other option but to cover a little extra ground from that gate and once he asked the horse to give Monton just powered away from the field to win comfortably. This was the best Christmas present that Monton could have given to his connections and no doubt there is going to be alot more celebrations to be had in the near future with this horse.
